Beware of the Opinionated Mind

They are out there.  Those individuals who will zealously defend a particular belief even though the information presented before them proves it is wrong.  Trapped in a fixed mode of thinking, these individuals will exasperate and frustrate you.  No matter how you present the information they will refuse to believe you.

Usually after engaging in a conversation with these types of individuals, you will find yourself feeling as though someone just sucked the life force out of you.  Your energy will be depleted and often you will be emotionally charged with anger or resentment.  You may even begin to doubt your own beliefs.

The Law of Purpose

For some unknown reason, we seem to have adopted the wrong interpretation of the Law of Purpose.  Somewhere down through the centuries, we came to believe that our purpose in life was to come here and make this world a better place.  Tied to this central theme was the idea that your role in making this world a better place was to get an education, get a job, and contribute to society.

Success in this definition was defined by that which was on the outside.  We were fulfilling our purpose in life if we had the physical trappings dictated by society.  Now there is nothing wrong with having things but when our focus is purely on the outer manifestation it takes us in the opposite direction from the original meaning of the Law of Purpose.  It is a direction that takes us away from our innate inner guidance.

Time to instil a little poetry...Awaken

Awaken

Awaken dear people, the choice draws near.
There is no reason to fear.
It is very clear.
Make the choice.
Only love here.

There is no threat in the light.
It is time to shine bright.
The darkness has fear.
Call it out of the closet, and it will not come near.
Where there is light, darkness cannot appear.

Never Look Back...

We all do it.  When something in our life goes wrong or doesn’t work out the way we want it to, we have this compulsion to continually think about.  For some of us, we can become quite obsessed about it.  We talk to other people about it.  We search the internet.  We have intimate dialogues in our head as we analyze it.  Rationalize it.  Defend our behaviours.  We even have imaginary conversations with those individuals who we deemed have wronged us. Round and round we go.

It doesn’t matter whether it is a failed relationship, a job loss, a dismal health prognosis, the death of someone or even a stupid argument; we as humans have this need to troll through our memory banks searching for the answers. Why did this happen to me?  What could I have done differently?  When did this chain of pain begin?

Time to Reprogram Your Beliefs

We come into this world a clean slate and over time we are conditioned and programmed with other people’s beliefs, judgements, superstitions and prejudices.  By the time we hit our teenage years; these programs have become firmly entrenched in our mind and influence not only our thinking, but also our behaviours and perceptions.  Since they are so deeply embedded in us, most people rarely understand how these false premises are affecting them in adulthood.

One of the most detrimental beliefs prevalent within our world is that of conditional love.  Most of us we grew up being told, “I will love you only if...” Words that were uttered by our parents or authority figures which implied if we did what we were told we would be loved.  What this belief

Inner Transformation or Revolution?

Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world.  Today I am wise, so I am changing myself. - Rumi

There has been some discussion lately regarding Russell Brand’s interview with Jeremy Paxman.  There was nothing new in what Russell was saying.  The points of view he put forth regarding political corruption, corporate interests, materialism and the potential devastation of Planet Earth have all been cited before.  People’s discontent with the various institutions in this world has been going on for centuries.
I agree with Russell’s opinion about the importance being aware of what is going on in the world. I just don’t believe that getting emotionally charged up about the issues actually increases awareness levels and empowers people.
I agree that there needs to be a change.  Where I differ with him is in how the change needs to come about. Russell seems to advocate the need for people to rise up, take a stance and engage in some sort of revolution. The problem with this approach is it

Law of Assumption

Although there has been a significant amount of emphasis on the Law of Attraction, I believe the Law of Assumption is really the cornerstone in creating your reality.  Under the Law of Assumption, the world that you see depends not so much as what is there but the assumptions you make when you look at it.  Your assumptions are that which you believe, feel, think and consent to.

All of your experiences are determined by your assumptions and it is how you are using your imagination that is driving these assumptions to create your state of being.  For an assumption will build of bridge of incidents that lead inevitably to the fulfillment of your image of your conscious or unconscious desires.

Who Is Using Your Imagination?

“Fools exploit the world; the wise transfigure it.” – Neville Goddard

We all do it.  Every day we rent or lease out our imagination for free.  We unconsciously allow not only the media, but our friends, acquaintances and colleagues to influence our state of being.  We have become absentee mind-lords, unaware that the thoughts that are occupying our minds are creating our reality.
It happens all the time.  We awaken in the morning feeling pretty good and then it starts.  We remember yesterday’s argument, and instantly we rent out our mind to those individuals we are in conflict with.  We surf the internet and allow the media’s portrayal of the world to direct our inner and outer conversations.  We listen to the so called experts and repeat their economic, political, health and world viewpoints never quite understanding that they are leasing our imaginations and using us as pawns to ensure the validation of their theories.

The Art of Revision

Regardless of your circumstances, you have dominion over every thought or idea in your mind, and do not need to keep yourself stuck in a state of being that is not serving you.  You have the option through the use of your imagination to revise your perception of the events of your day or life.

The problem is most of us are not in the habit of exercising this option.  Instead, we spend our time rehashing the less than stellar events of our life.  We gossip, complain and lay blame on people and conditions outside of ourselves.  Somehow we have come to believe that continually talking about a problem or situation will make things better.  It doesn’t.  It keeps us tethered to the state of mind that reflects to us the events and circumstances we don’t want in our life or world.

Let me give you a simplistic example of what I mean.  I was coaching an individual who began telling me about an injury she had sustained while exercising.  She told me she was seeing a physiotherapist for it and after three months it wasn’t getting any better.  As we talked, she began telling me how she thought the injury happened.  Over and over again, she provided me with different scenarios.

What is Reality?

In many of the ancient scripts they speak about the illusion.  Nothing is as it appears.  This past week I began pondering the difference between the dreams I have at night, and the world I encounter throughout the day.  I am told the night dreams are only illusion, and when my alarm goes off in the morning the real world begins.  Is this really the case?

In the night as I lay upon my bed, I travel through worlds.  I talk to people and have experiences, yet I am not moving physically.  It is only within my mind that I think I am moving.  I am told by various experts that these are only dreams or nightmares reflecting the hidden recesses of my mind.  Some tell me it is the processing of information brought to me by the events of days or weeks before.  Yet, when I awaken in the morning I claim these dreams as my own creation.  I say, ‘I had a dream last night’.

The Law of the Mind

Let your mind start a journey thru a strange new world. Leave all thoughts of the world you knew before. Let your soul take you where you long to be...Close your eyes let your spirit start to soar and you'll live as you've never lived before. – Erich Fromm

The Law of the Mind identifies the need to bring harmony to all aspects of the mind and to learn to operate through the part of the mind which is influenced by the Universal Consciousness.  As the mystics down through the ages have said, man and the Cosmic Intelligence or God’s mind are one; and it is this mind that is influenced by your thoughts and speech.  The problem is man spends his time in words and thoughts which provide a negative return on its investment.

Your mind is not a single entity, and in reality it is comprised of quite a few minds.  It is these fragmentary parts of the mind that keep you locked into a false sense of reality.   Through the use of your own mind, you tend to operate schizophrenically on the outer edge of your life believing that the facts presented to you throughout the day are reality.  It is why in the morning you awaken full of love and by the evening you are filled with unloving thoughts if not downright anger.

What is Culture?

We Are One
Pencil Sketch by Beverly Blanchard
It is word we hear every day.  People use it to identify and define themselves.  It is used to differentiate ourselves from other groups of people.  It is used in corporations as in the corporate culture.  There is fashion culture, music culture, art culture, language culture, heritage culture, folk culture, sexual culture, gender culture, community culture, drug culture...the list can go onto to infinity and yet it is a word which seems divide and separates us.

We fight over culture.  We blame other cultures for the plights within the world.  We use culture as a comparison mechanism.  My culture is better than your culture.  We define people based on imaginary little lines stroked across Planet Earth.  On this side of the line you are from that culture, and the people on that side of the line are from this culture.   We use culture as a word to instill fear and suggest that someone else’s culture will destroy us.  We stamp children at birth with a culture and tell them this is who they are and who they will be for the rest of their life.  We create stereotypes about the various cultures, and pigeonhole people. We hide behind culture and sometimes we use culture for the economic and social benefits.

Yet what exactly is culture?  Who defines it?  Who owns the culture?  Who speaks for a whole culture?  Is there such a thing as a whole culture? Do all the people under the umbrella of a particular culture all think the same?  What happens when you grow up and discover that the culture you are born into and the beliefs you accepted are no longer valid to your life?  Is there really such a thing as cultural appropriation?  Who creates the cultural road show and sanctions the changes within the culture?

The Law of Compassion

A Boy and His Dog
Photograph by Beverly Blanchard
The proper aim of giving is to put the recipients in a state where they no longer need our gifts. — C.S. Lewis (The Four Loves, 1960)

Compassion, it is a buzz word that has been used for eons.  Politicians toss the word into their speeches to gain favor with the electorate.  The corporate world engages in cause related marketing to give the impression that they care about their communities.  Some even ensure us the money raised through these various events is given good causes.  Religious institutions talk about the compassion for their fellow man as they pass around the collection plate.  Charitable organizations use slogans to guilt you into giving.  Give or run for the cause because it shows you care.  We have somehow come to be a society who associates giving money with compassion.

On a more personal level, there are many people who believe feeling pity for someone or something means they are exhibiting compassionate behavior.  We give to the local panhandler because the giving somehow appeases our guilty conscience.  Yet compassion laced with pity almost always has its roots in guilt and fear, and carries a sense of condescension. For some there is even a smug feeling of “I’m glad it’s not me.”

The Law of Prosperity

And the evil wish is most evil to the wisher. -- Hesiod

The Law of Prosperity states that when one prospers, all prosper.  Your level of prosperity will be in direct proportion to your responses about another person’s prosperity.  Most people do not understand that if you are secretly taking private pleasure in another person’s misfortune or begrudging another person’s prosperity, you are affecting your own possibilities of generating prosperity.  Everything works on vibration. The feelings of jealousy and resentment you harbor about another’s well-being will keep you locked into a lower vibrational frequency of lack.  Smile upon someone else’s success and good fortune, and you are smiling upon your own.  For example, your friend gets a major job promotion and has now increased their income into the six figures.  They call you, and excitedly tell you all about it.  You are so happy for them that you are bursting at the seams with joy.  Your joy in this other person’s success means that you will also prosper because there is a vibrational match.

The opposite happens when you are upset or envious about someone else’s prosperity.  In your resentment you create a vibrational mismatch and you will diminish your prosperity.  Let us go back

Aligned with Source Energy or Not - It's Your Choice

Bald Eagle
Charcoal Sketch by Beverly Blanchard
This is an excerpt from my unpublished manuscript entitled, Is this Happiness?  Alexis has just asked her Spirit Guide Bald Eagle about the dark beings she saw earlier in the day at work.

“I know you find this hard to believe, but, there are lots of different beings operating in your world.  When you begin to recognize that there is more than what you see, feel and hear with your physical apparatus you open yourself to new dimensions and worlds.  You will begin to see things which may lead to you questioning your sanity,” he said.

She nervously gave off a laugh and added, “Question my sanity?  I was beginning to think that perhaps I should check myself in for psychiatric testing.”

Bald Eagle roared, “Alexis, sometimes you are so melodramatic.  Let us continue because this subject can get really confusing for you humans.  There is no such thing as evil.  There is no right and wrong.  There is only energy that is aligned with Source Energy and that which is not.  Energy that is aligned with Source vibrates at a higher frequency.  Energy that vibrates at a lower frequency and that what you as humans consider evil is that which is unaligned with Source Energy.  There are varying degrees of vibration; however they are still part of the whole.  There is no separation.  In other words, they are two sides of the same coin.  The darkness and the light cannot be separated.  In some cases the darkness is part of your experience to reflect back your vibration.  It tells you what is going on inside of you.  Sometimes the darkness is there to provide you with contrast because without contrast you would not be able to expand.  Your only purpose in this earth walk is to evolve and to do this one must align with Source Energy.  The dark beings and gargoyles you saw this afternoon are of a lower vibration and as such are not of loving intent. You must understand

Law of Reincarnation and a Preview of the Afterworld

Transitions
Watercolour by Beverly Blanchard

Death is but the commencement of a new life. – Chuang Tze

Also known as the Law of Death and Rebirth, the Law of Reincarnation simply states that your purpose is to purify yourself from “negative” attributes.  To do this you go through various experiences and you stay in the experience until you shift the state of being. Experiences or states of being are repeated until you learn the lesson.  Reincarnation is about evolving up the spiral and movement toward union with Source Energy.
With the exception of the Romans, most cultures and religions around the world have had some doctrine regarding reincarnation.  Some have associated it with karmic retribution meaning you squandered your wealth in one life therefore in this life you are poor.  Others have taught that if one is not careful in this life, then there is a possibility of returning as an ant.  Still others have created the heaven and hell dichotomy which has some truth associated to it but not in the context most of us have been taught.
One of the most interesting ancient teachings is that of the Druids which taught that the human incarnation includes life in the various human races on this and other planets until the soul passes onto a ‘Circle of Bliss’ or the ‘Gwynfid’.   Beyond this state there is the ‘Circle of the Infinite’ or ‘Ceugant’ which is identical to the concepts put forth by the Persians and Greek Mystics.  It is also similar to the concept of ‘Nirvana’ spoken about by the Hindus.

The Awakening

Throughout history there have been numerous prophecies and theories put forth about the awakening of humanity.  In this current age of information, the concept of awakening has spawned a variety of differing opinions and industries.  It can all become rather confusing as everyone offers different definitions of what the awakening means.

There are some who believe that the notion of awakening deals primarily with the world of economics and politics.  We have been told by some, that humanity will now awaken to the corruption of the world and realize we have been enslaved.  Many in this group push for revolutions to change the world.   The problem with this view is the pendulum swings from one side to the other and nothing really changes.

According to others, the current astrological alignment in the stars and the end of the Mayan calendar has foreshadowed the new age of consciousness. We are told that humanity is moving into the age of love and we have shifted to a new vibrational frequency.  This shift will save Planet Earth and we will all live in peace, love and harmony.  In other words, heaven would now be found on earth.

The Law of Karma

“How people treat you is their Karma; how you react is yours.” –- Wayne Dyer

Here is one of the Universal Laws which is totally misunderstood. When most people think of karma they think of payback, revenge and retribution.  We even have slogans that tells us: “Karma is a bitch.”  The implied assumption of the phrase is that it is about someone else’s behaviour.  In today’s world, we use the word karma to relinquish our responsibility for our own vibration. So what exactly is the Law of Karma?
Also known as the Law of Identical Harvest, it is the reaping of the seeds you have sown.  These seeds can either be associated with negative or positive experiences in your life.  Karma is not necessarily about behaviour, it more about vibration.

The Power of Suggestion

Every day we are bombarded by a tidal wave of information.  Most of it is irrelevant to our immediate lives, yet it influences our lives.  We buy products because we are told they will bring us happiness; make us look younger or healthier.  We run to our doctors because commercials suggest that we may have a particular illness, and if we get the latest pill we will be healed.  We blog, post to our Facebook accounts and continually talk about issues the media has presented as important.

We never seem to realize that we are allowing someone else to mold our minds and direct our thinking.  We also never question the validity of the information we are consuming and if you happen to have a memory you can become totally confused listening to the experts.  On day we are told something is good for us and the next day it we are told it is detrimental to our health and well-being.  One day we are told the economy is on the mend and the next it is nose diving.

Consciously Using Your Imagination

Come Play
Your imagination is functioning 24/7.  Everything that happens to you comes to you because of what you planted in your imagination.  Your role in working with your imagination consciously is to appropriate the desired state of the wish fulfilled.  To appropriate the state of being you desire, you must play with the image you desire on a continual basis and walk in the assumption that the wish is fulfilled.  No one needs to know what you are doing.  Everything is done within your mind.

Take for example...suppose you have a problem at work with your boss.  Every morning you wake up and before you have even had your first cup of coffee you begin the drama with your boss within your mind.  He says this and you say that.  You haven’t even made it to work yet and the whole monologue is being played out within your mind.  Through your own negative inner dialogue you have laid the framework for your day and since everything is vibration, your boss will now be obliged to honour the vibrational frequency you are emitting.    If you want to change the situation, you will need to feed your imagination a new dialogue and create within your mind a life like representation of the type of relationship you want.  What would the feeling be like if your boss and you got along?  What would your boss be saying to you?  How do you want the relationship to be?

Now here is where people have problems with using their imagination to shift their reality.  Instead of sticking to the new story of how they want things to be, they revert back to the old story.  There are numerous reasons why we do this.  Sometimes we just like the drama.  Other times we are unconscious of the dramas being played out in our heads because they have become habits of the minds. Whatever our reason is, unless we change the pattern and remain vigilant to the new story not much will change in our life.

The second challenge people have when working consciously with their imagination deals with how they create their movie in their mind’s eye.  Many people can visualize what they want but they neglect to occupy the sensations of the movie.  Instead they become the observer of the movie.  In other words, they have projected the movie on their internal screen and are viewing themselves in the role.  In order for your imagination to work for you it is necessary to become the actor in the movie you are creating.

So how do you become the actor?  You must step into the movie.  Think about it this way.  If you were talking to someone right now, you would only be able to see parts of yourself.  You may be able to see your hands or arms but you would not see your face or head.  The same principle holds true when you are working with your imagination because in order for you to capture the mood and sensations, you have to be a part of the movie.

Here are some very simple exercises to expand your imagination experiences.

  • In your mind’s eye, visualize a lemon.  Now I want you to place it on a cutting board and imagine you are slicing it with a knife.  Take a piece that you have sliced and place it in your mouth and suck on it. What most likely happened when you put the lemon in your mouth is your physical body reacted to an imaginary lemon.
  • In your mind’s eye, visualize a basketball.  Now I want you to dribble that ball with your right hand.  Now with your left.  Add the sounds you would hear of a basketball bouncing on the ground.
  • In your mind’s eye visualize a rose.  Smell that rose.  Feel the petals.
Adding the spiritual sensations to the virtual movies in your mind assists you in shifting your reality and manifesting what you desire. Here Neville Goddard discusses how imagination works.

Lining up Imagination with your Desire – Step 2

Dancing in Imagination
Watercolour by Beverly Blanchard
You have decided what it is you want.  You have put it in the affirmative, and you believe that whatever it is you can be or have it.  It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks, all that matters is what you think.  If you want to consciously create your life, your belief in the wish fulfilled is a necessary factor.  In this post, I will provide you with the starting point in gaining control over your imagination because unless you control your imaginal activities, your imagination is going to control you.

Your imagination is working 24/7 and for most people it is filled with negative inner dialogue.  According to the Law of Reflection and the Law of Projection, the people and situations you don’t like are usually arriving in your life as a result of the mental conversations you have with yourself every day.  What you are thinking at any point of time is creating your future, and it is this unconscious inner dialogue that is writing the script of your life.  Don’t like what is happening in your life then you must become aware of your internal conversations.

For sake of simplicity let me give you an analogy to assist you in understanding how your imagination works.  In this analogy, there are two beings.  There is the outer you and the inner you.  The outer you is based on your physical senses and defines itself by the so-called facts of reality.  I have only this much money in my bank account.  I weigh this amount.  I have this illness.  I see that tree.  I live in this house. I have this problem person in my life.

The inner you is based on spiritual sensation or feelings, and is your imagination.   It is not defined or confined by the facts.  It can transcend time and space.  It has the ways and means to achieve the desired result.  It does not distinguish between good or bad.  It takes its direction by what you are mentally feeding it.

Your moods are the energy that drives your imagination.  Within your imagination there are various states of being.  For you to become or achieve what you desire you must occupy the desired state within your mind.  To find the feelings associated with the end-result you can start by asking yourself these questions:  What would the feeling be like if this idea was true?  What would I feel like if I was the person I want to be?  What would I see, hear, feel and sense?  You have to catch the feeling because the mood determines your success.  If you can imagine it within your mind it will materialize in the physical but you have to walk in the assumption of the wish fulfilled.

Do not ask how it is going to be done.  Do not ask when it is going to be done. Your inner being looks after that.  You must make a radical change in your state of mind and direct your inner dialogues to what you want to hear, feel and see.  As Einstein said, “Your imagination is the preview of life’s coming attractions.”

In the next posts, I will show you ways of working with your imagination.  In the meantime, enjoy a clip from Pixar's movie "The Incredibles".

Lining up Imagination with your Desire – Step One

Paradise
Watercolour by Beverly Blanchard
What is it you want? Do you want more money? Do you want a better feeling body? Do you want a new job?  Do you want a relationship?  Do you want more customers for your business?  Whatever it is you want, you can have it.  There are no limits.  There are no judgments.  You do not have to plead a needy case.  You can be or do or have anything you want.  All you have to do is ask and then step into the state of being aligned with your request.

All states of being exist and are part of creation.  It is like a spider web or matrix.  Throughout your lifetime you either consciously or inadvertently fall into these states.  When we enter into these states we are compelled to act in accordance with these states.  Our thoughts and beliefs become congruent with the state of being.  To move yourself out of the state of being you are in (what is) and into a desired state (what you want) you must use your imagination.
Now here is where most people give up because your mind will give you thousands of reasons as to why you can’t have what you want.  If you stay within the confines of the rational mind’s reasoning, your desire will remain only an idea.  You have to tune your vibrational frequency to the vibrational frequency of your desire.
In the subsequent posts, I will give you information and techniques which can assist you in appropriating the desired state of being to match your desire.  The first step in aligning your imagination to your desire is defining what it is you want in your life.
Step One – Define What You Want
What do you want? It is a very simple question but there are a lot of people who just can’t seem to answer it.  There are those who are intent on complaining about reality and have never given it thought as to what they want in place of what they are complaining about.  There are others who are very good at framing their answer in terms of what they don’t want... ‘I don’t want to be sick anymore.’  ‘I don’t want to be unemployed.’ ‘I don’t want to worry about money anymore.’  The more you focus on what you don’t want, the more you get of it.  It is the way Universe works.  To get what you want you have to be forward thinking and your request must be in the affirmative because the words you use matter.
It is also necessary to stop focusing on the reality of what currently is happening in your life.  You cannot focus on what is and expect to change your life.  You have to turn in the direction of what it is your want.  All change starts with your desire.  So what is that you want in your life?
Here is Jay Arthur Ray talking about wishes...

The Dreamer is within You

Dreaming in Paradise
Watercolour by Beverly Blanchard
Man is all Imagination and God is Man and exists in us and we in him. The eternal body of Man is the Imagination and that is God Himself.”-- William Blake (1757-1827)

Throughout the course of history, there have been many prophets, seers and enlightened beings who have told us in various ways that the source of our power is within.  Yet, for some reason we have continually accepted stories which places Spirit/God outside ourselves.

When you came into this world, you knew who you were.  Unfortunately you didn’t have the experience and wisdom to articulate it.  As time went on you forgot and began accepting what the authorities in your life told you to believe.  It is these beliefs that have taken you away from your true infinite power.  Many of these beliefs have locked you into a pattern or state of being that is not in your highest interest.
As explained in the Law of One, there is no separation.  Spirit resides within you and is entombed within your skull.  Spirit dreams within you and it is waiting for you to awaken to the realization that you and God are one.  The dream is within you.  You do not need an intermediary to connect to the divine presence.  We are all spiritual beings manifested in human form operating from the same Source Energy.  We are each a fragment of Source Energy.

It was Shakespeare who said, “All the world’s a stage and all the men and women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances…and each man in his time plays many parts.”  The man playing many parts is Spirit.  God is the dreamer, dreaming all parts into existence.  You are the author of the story.  Through your thoughts, perceptions, beliefs and feelings you are continually writing the screenplay.  Everyone who appears in your world comes to you through your invitation and is Spirit in human form playing that part you created.
Your life is really like a movie.  You are the author and main actor.  Spirit is the producer who looks after all phases of the movie. He makes it happen.  The nagging mind is the director who is continually telling you that you haven’t mastered the role.  The people and experiences coming into your life are the cast and crew.  All brought together because of the story you wrote.

If you are dissatisfied with the play, it is up to you to rewrite the script to make it conform to your idea of what the play should be. You cannot demand that the actors in your play change their role in your life.  You can however with Spirit’s assistance change your movie because all changes must take place in the mind of the author.  Everything is an outsourcing of your mind’s imagination and it is only through our consensus that we are dreaming in concert.
To change your script you have to know: What Story Are You Telling?  Spirit makes no judgment on whatever story you create.  We are in the world of duality or some say the land of the shadows.  Spirit just lines up the vibrations to match the story you are writing and telling.  All the good, the bad and the ugly experiences in your life, are matched perfectly to the dominant theme in your script.

Next post I will show you how to line up with Source to access your inherent power because Spirit is your imagination.  In the meantime, here is a short clip from philosopher Alan Watts.

Where is Spirit in all this?

Throughout the course of history, there have been numerous wars fought over who has the correct concept of Spirit/God.  There have been a variety of definitions and ideas of how to connect to Spirit. My purpose in this first post is to provide you with another perspective to ponder.

There are some religions that have perpetuated the belief that Spirit or God is an outside entity.  It is a God that rolls the dice and determines what will happen in your life and in the world surrounding you. You are at the mercy of outside forces.  Other religions have gone further to define what actions one must do to connect to Spirit and if you don’t do the prescribed actions, you suffer eternal damnation.   Still there are others who speak about having to come back to Earth to right the mistakes of your past lives.

In some Indigenous cultures throughout the world, a different concept of God was put forward.  It was one in which the Creator was within all.  Everything and everyone was contained within the whole.  There was however some Indigenous cultures who believed that it was necessary to perform some sort of sacrifice in order to appease the various Gods and ensure survival of the tribe.  In addition, many had Shamans who through various initiations was ‘chosen’ to be the connection for the people in their dealings with other worlds.

In today’s Western world, everyday there seems to be new approaches offered on how to connect with Spirit.  Some have combined some of the Indigenous approaches with New Age isms.  Others have expanded spiritual teachings to include the feminine Goddess.  Others have brought forward the teachings of Buddha or the Tao.  Science is also exploring spiritualism and now talks of Spirit as energy.  There appears to be many pathways to connecting with Source Energy.

Sacred geometry provides a different clue for where Spirit is and how the world was created.  If you look around, you will find all of nature is filled with these geometric figures.  If you take the opportunity to watch these two videos, you may ascertain that Spirit is within you and is love.  In addition, you may discover that the Old Testament might not be the secular history that we have been guided to believe.  It may be a spiritual story or parable of how our world came to be manifested and why it is still evolving.

In the next post, I will offer you the suggestion of where Spirit is within you and how you can connect or align with Spirit.
