Mind Pollution and Fear Porn

Marketers love the new and improved formula for pitching products.  Make a few product changes, repackage the outside, slap new and improved on the package, and consumers will buy it at a higher price thinking it is a better product.  Likewise, the propaganda machines use these and other psychological techniques to market the latest threat to humanity as information you need for your personal survival on this Planet Earth.  Of course, it is filled with the worst, of the worst-case scenarios and the possible outcomes always circle around death.  We quiver with the word.  Just as information can be used for good; it can also be used for dubious means such as shifting the world’s thinking down a dangerous road.

The bombardment of this information on the human psyche becomes the biggest threat to us.  This mind pollution permeates every moment of our existence and it is fueled by fear through its distortions of the truth.  It is mind pollution seeded by the fear virus.  Everything is meticulously scripted and all the actors show up to play their parts.  Celebrities, journalists, politicians, the common person and the exhaustive list of experts play across the screens of our mind and dump insidious subplots into our lives.

Life’s Unending Exam

We come into this world and like it or not, we are instantly enrolled in the school of life where each day, each moment in time, we are required to complete a variety of exams to get to the next level.  At the start of this journey, many of us believed that all learning was confined to a classroom and once we graduated from this institution, we were finished with school.  No more teachers, no more books, no more lessons…Wrong!  It was only when we got into ‘real world’ that many of us soon discovered that the teachers morphed into bosses, colleagues and relatives.  Sometimes it was even people you don’t know or situations you could never have foreseen.  The formal classroom just became life and what you learned in the educational system may have helped with your career but it certainly didn’t prepare you for navigating through life’s trials and tribulations.

There is Power in your Awareness

"When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves." - Viktor Frankl

People often overlook the simplest things in life.  Instead they seek the complicated and spend their time searching and accumulating more knowledge.  They neglect to recognize that although they may understand something intellectually, the benefits will only come when you put it into your experience.  It’s when the intellectual transmutes into the ‘ahhh’ moment.  It is a piece of the puzzle falling into place.

If you are seeking to change your life, the starting point is becoming aware of where you are placing your attention.  Consciousness always follows thought and your thoughts are made up of the beliefs that you have accepted as true.  It is through these beliefs that you perceive your own personal world.
